Guest Speaker
Rebecca Degnan, LPC is the founder, owner and manager of Prism Counseling and Support LLC. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor with a passion for working with the LGBTQ+ community. Rebecca is trained in EMDR and truly enjoys helping clients overcome symptoms of PTSD due to past traumas. Rebecca received my Master of Science degree in counseling at CCSU in 2012. Her undergraduate degree was in music, with a double major in Music Composition and Music Production and Technology from the Hartt School of Music. She worked as a school counselor at the middle school level for over 6 years, and before that she taught music and choir for more than ten years at the middle school level. Rebecca started Prism after her son came out as transgender and she noticed a lack of support for the LGBTQ+ community and their families in CT. She decided to do something herself to fill that void, and Prism was born! In addition to counseling, Rebecca loves to facilitate professional development workshops for schools, businesses and other organizations. She is passionate about education and helping improve our communities through knowledge and support.
